STARS Announce Dec Event

With the 2007 season now officially at an end, already the eyes of the speedway world begin to look forward to Spring 2008 when we all start afresh and again enjoy the roar of the bikes and the company of fellow speedway supporters.

It is with that eye on fundraising towards 2008, and with a desire to keep the speedway family in touch during a long winter close season, that the STARs group can now confirm the first guest to make an appearance at our supporters event on Friday, 7th December [Alan Rough Suite, Firhill Stadium].

Honouring his pledge to come to Glasgow and inject his own brand of speedway insight - both from the saddle and in front of the SKY television cameras - is multi World Longtrack champion and TV pundit / commentator Kelvin Tatum MBE.

With more guest names to be unveiled later this weekend, the rare appearance of Tatum in Glasgow particularly at a social event, is one which should create interest amongst Scottish speedway fans.

The event will be designed around a similar structure to the very successful and highly entertaining gathering last December which featured Hans Andersen, Steve Lawson and Andy Reid ... those in attendance will fondly recall what was an wonderful night of speedway indulgence and all-round fun.

Given the success of last years equivalent event, admission will once again be by ticket only (priced just £7.50*) and these can be purchased NOW by calling Colin/Mandy Mackie on (01236) 429910 between 10am - 5pm (except Wednesday/Sunday) to prepay by debit or credit card, and your ticket(s) can either be posted out to you or collected at the venue on the evening, simple!
(*STARs ‘100 Club’ members, remember to claim your discounted admission and pay just £6 per ticket!).

Also on the night supporters will be able to:

• hear a first hand post promoters conference update by the Glasgow promotion
• hear the very latest hot-off-the-press signing news for 2008
• pick up some valuable speedway memorabilia in a speedway auction
• have pictures taken with the guests
• enjoy some film footage
• put your questions to the guest panel
• see if you are drawn as the 100 Club winner for November or December (you can join too!)

... and pick-up any pre Christmas goodies for other speedway mad friends or family!
