Following quickly on the heels of announcing that multiple
World Longtrack champion and SKY Sports speedway pundit Kelvin Tatum
MBE will headline the first STARs supporters event of this winter
(Friday, 7th December in Alan Rough suite, Firhill Stadium), the organisers
are now delighted to confirm the next two guest to complete the line-up.
Joining Tatum is another former rider and one of THE most successful
British riders of all time given his career record which stretches
from 1973 - 1990 and which managed to include various prestigious
achievements inclusive of World Pairs Champion, World Team Cup champion,
Intercontinental Champion, multiple World Individual Finalist and
British Champion to name but a few. Very much a one club rider, this
former star rode with the best ad against the very best in a career
which bridged a peak for the sport during the 1970's and 1980's and,
in acknowledgement of his achievements he became one of the very few
speedway riders to be honoured by the Queen .... it will be a very
warm Glasgow welcome to none other than Chris Morton MBE.
Joining Chris on the guest panel is a man known to us all by name
here in Glasgow but perhaps not at all known generally in terms of
personality, downright good humour and his man & boy love affair
with Glasgow Speedway. From watching from the White City and Hampden
terraces, from afar as his professional career developed and prospered,
and nowadays as co-promoter at both Glasgow and Belle Vue this man
has a story to tell and no doubt many entertaining accounts to share
.... making only his second visit to Glasgow in 2007 is Gordon Pairman
(not yet MBE!).
Given the success of last years equivalent event, admission will
once again be by ticket only (priced just £7.50*) and these
can be purchased NOW by calling Colin/Mandy Mackie on (01236) 429910
between 10am - 5pm (except Wednesday/Sunday) to prepay by debit or
credit card, and your ticket(s) can either be posted out to you or
collected at the venue on the evening, simple! (*STARs 100 Club members,
remember to claim your discounted admission and pay just £6
per ticket!).
Also on the night supporters will be able to:
