Trent Becomes Number 1

Tigers fans received a pleasant surprise yesterday when Trent Leverington was announced as the first signing for 2008.

Trent came on by leaps and bounds last year, fulfilling his pre-season promise to make the no 5 race jacket his own and finishing the season on an average of 6.44. He also stepped into the captains role at the end of the season when Shane was injured.

With the conference only a couple of days away most people probably did not expect any team announcements now until after Conference business had been concluded but the announcement though unexpected will certainly be popular with the fans.

There is no doubt that Trent has a major role to play for the Tigers in 2008 and is capable of further increasing his average.
