Bruce Forrester Memorial

Whatever happens in tonight's Young Shield first leg meeting at Redcar this evening there will technically be silverware up for grabs as the winner of heat 15 will win the Bruce Forrester Memorial Trophy.

The trophy, donated and sponsored by the Bears Supporters Group, is named after one of Middlesbrough's mot popular riders of the early 70's and a past captain of the Teesiders.

Although in relative terms he had a short speedway career he was a firm favourite of the fans and is acknowledged by them as one of Middlesbrough's greats.
