Academy Season Ends

A combination of the Tigers side qualifying for the latter stages of the Premier Trophy and Young Shield, the number of Sundays Glasgow have been unable to run because of Super7 events and the bad weather mean that Tigers Academy team are unable to complete their fixtures for 2007.

Glasgow have basically run out of dates, the Tigers side are having to run two double headers already and the curfew time and poor light means that it is just not possible to fit in the two remaining fixtures.

The Giants fixtures were against Sheffield and Birmingham, both fixtures already having fallen victim to one thing or another at least twice earlier in the season. The original Sheffield tie was due to be run after the Premier League meeting with Sheffield but had to be called off due to the weather. Countless other dates were arranged but called off often at short notice when Sheffield advised they were unable to get enough riders to travel. The Birmingham fixture had been arranged to follow the Premier League meeting between the sides which has already been cancelled twice.

Colin Mackie has indicated that the Heathersfield Golden Helmet will be going ahead on the 28th October however and will feature Academy League riders from various clubs.
