Still a Glasgow asset, Ross has once again refused to ride for his
parent club in 2007, making it three seasons in a row. Seen by most
as a very expensive mistake as an asset, Ross appears to suffer from
crises of confidence.
Following on from his refusal to ride for the Tigers last season,
the offer he expected to be forthcoming from Edinburgh did not transpire
and he started 2006 on the sidelines. A month into the season however
he got an opportunity to ride with Rye House, replacing the injured
Stuart Robson, although his average plummeted in this time and he
left the Hoddesdon outfit in mid August.
He did ride briefly for the Tigers in 2003 but his appearances were
both limited and disappointing. Without a doubt Ross's most successful
year was with Hull in 2004 when he was an important part of their
championship winning side but he was unable to secure a place with
the Vikings for 2005.
In addition to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Rye House and Hull, Ross has also
had spells with Peterborough, Sheffield, Berwick and King's Lynn.
Workington have advised that they offered Ross terms for 2007 but
the Scot turned them down.
