2007
Glasgow Scoring Record
Lee joins Glasgow after a season that saw him almost
a victim of his own success. He started 2006 at Berwick and upped
his average by almost a point, one of only two Berwick riders to increase
his average. It made him the rider to be sacrificed however when Berwick
brought in Jacek Rempala.
Lee moved on to replace Ross Brady at Rye House for
nine meetings until Stuart Robson returned from injury. In addition
he rode a handful of meetings in the Elite League at reserve for Wolverhampton
early in 2006.
The likeable Mancunian is an all round sportsman, he
was a three times British Champion at Schoolboy Cycle Speedway, rode
for the English European Team and was a very handy cross country runner
at regional level. His fitness would certainly have helped in seasons
2002, when he rode in all of Hulls 50 meetings, and in 2003 when he
completed a similar feat at Exeter in their 48 meetings.
He has been a bit of a nomad since taking up speedway
having ridden for Mildenhall, Buxton, Rye House, Sheffield, Belle
Vue, Workington, Newcastle, Hull, Exeter, Berwick and Wolves at various
levels but has made no secret of his desire to settle at one club
now.
Ashfield has always been a track that Lee has ridden
well and scored good points at and Glasgow were one of the clubs Lee
hoped would approach him to offer a team place in 2007.
