One of the cheeriest riders about, Trent must also be
one of the most forgiving as even the Glasgow Promotion have admitted
Trent has not exactly had a good deal from his parent club in the
past. However, he was the first rider Glasgow announced for their
2007 side on what looks to be a bargain 4.58 average.
His career so far has seen him yo-yo between Stoke and
Glasgow since he came over to Ashfield on 2003 at the recommendation
of James Grieves. The situation where he was dropped before a wheel
was turned in anger for 2004 has been well documented. Stoke came
in for him in the May and he had a good season down there before returning
to Glasgow in 2005.
Once again a victim of the averages, Trent returned
to Stoke in 2006 and came back to haunt the Tigers when guesting for
Edinburgh in the Scottish Cup at the end of the season.
Since he initially came over in 2003, Trent has also
helped with the Ashfield track when not racing and his help will no
doubt be missed by Danny Gibb in 2007.
He had hoped to get a full winters racing in his homeland
but an accident in the Dave Booth Tribute Meeting in mid-December
left him nursing a broken bone in his wrist but will be back fully
fit, raring to go and no doubt smiling as usual come the start of
the UK season.
