Rain Fails to Stop Farewell Meeting

Yet again the weather gods decided to start raining just before 4pm on a Sunday but it did not stop David's farewell meeting going ahead, the latter part of the meeting being run in the dry.

It's fair to say that the conditions early on may have caused a League fixture to be delayed but full credit must be given to all the riders who showed their respect for David by going out and riding sensibly and as competitively as the conditions would allow.

The overall result was secondary (Glasgow won with Shane Parker also winning the solo final), there was a decent turnout especially given the conditions to pay tribute to David and hopefully raise a fair amount of money for him in the process.

For those who missed it and are looking to find out what happened during the racing, there should be a DVD of the meeting available in the near future - details will no doubt be on David's website when they are available.
