Glasgow will be hoping as many people as possible make their way along to Ashfield tomorrow for the almost traditional end of season Junior event, the Heathersfield Gold Helmet.
Those who attended last year, in what were less than ideal speedway conditions, were left talking about an excellent climax to the event with Adam McKinna and Gary Beaton contesting an excellent final race, Gary coming out on top.
Colin Mackie has again worked hard to pull together a competitive 12 man field with the additional appeal to long standing Glasgow fans that the greatest Tiger of all time, Stevie Lawson, will be presenting the trophy.
Current holder Gary Beaton returns to defend his trophy whilst Adam McKinna is also in the line up and will be keen for revenge. Stevie Lawson's son Richard will also be in action. He only turned to speedway a few months ago and has already secured a contract for next season with the Workington Comets. Richard looked very stylish when he rode in the David McAllan meeting at Ashfield last month.
The full line up is:-
- Gary Beaton
- Adam McKinna
- James McBain
- Robert McNeil
- Kieron Morris
- John MacPhail
- Richard Lawson
- Scott Richardson
- Scott James
- Steven Jones
- Johnny Grey
- Mike Pickering.
Admission prices are Adults £10, Concessions £7 and children £3 with the usual deal that children under 12 accompanied by a paying adult are admitted free of charge
