Scottish Cup Challenge Team
(Posted 30/10/08)
The Official Edinburgh website have given details of the select who are to ride in Glasgow race jackets for tomorrow nights Scottish Cup second leg tie.
With the meeting surprisingly agreed to take place two weeks after the Tigers season has ended, there are not surprisingly quite a few changes in the line up in comparison to previous Glasgow teams.
Two Tigers riders will be part of the side. Skipper Trent Leverington will once more lead the team and he will be joined by the ever popular Lee Dicken. James Grieves has, as expected, been drafted in at number 1 and his form this season will ensure that the Tigers select has a good spear head.
No doubt the inclusion of Michal Makovsky will not go down too well with some of the home sides fans given that he has been involved in a couple of controversial outings at Armadale this season. He is however always good entertainment value and is known as a rider who always gives 100%.
With rider replacement for Robert's position, that leaves the two reserve slots. Adam McKinna has been called in as reward for his win in the Heathersfield Open at Ashfield last Sunday and obviously he knows the Edinburgh track well. he will be joined at reserve by Workington's Charles Wright, one of the few visiting reserves to have posted a good score at Armadale this season.
Edinburgh already hold a one point lead from the first leg of this years Scottish Cup at Ashfield at the start of the month
