Tigers Duo in Action in Denmark
(Posted 02/08/08)

Anders Andersen and Peter Juul were both in action for Grinsted after the Danish League got back to business after its short mid summer break.

Anders scored 6+2 from 5 outings whilst Peter scored 7+2 from 6.

Peter was the first of the two to take to the track in heat 2 and got a paid second place behind team mate Henning Bager.

Anders finished at the rear in heat 3, his opening race of the night but was soon picking up points. Heat 6 saw him get a paid win behind Henning Bager and ahead of Stokes Klaus Jakobsen. Peter then claimed Grinsted's sole point in heat 7 behind the impressive visiting pairing of Skornicki and Nielsen

In heat 9 it was a real Glasgow affair with Anders getting another paid win, this time Peter Juul winning the race, although it was only a 3 rider race as Kris Jacobsen had withdrawn from the meeting. It was however an important maximum for the home side as they had been trailing at that point but the Tigers duo's win put them back into the lead and seemed to spur the rest of the team on.

Both youngsters were back out again in heat 10 but Anders to settle for a creditable second place behind Esbjergs Tobias Busch whilst Peter failed to score.

Their final outing was in heat 13 when Anders and Peter teamed up again but this time they were facing a tactical ride from Adam Skornicki of Esbjerg. Unfortunately Anders suffered bike gremlins in this one and as a result failed to score. With Peter unable to thwart Skornicki or Busch of Esbjerg on his own the visitors clawed their way right back into the meeting, going into the final heat only two points down. However Grinsted's Janniro and Bager completed the meeting with a 5-1 in heat 14 to claim victory.

Overall it was a good performance from both Anders and Peter.
