The downside of team announcements for the following season is that there are invariably riders who have to be dropped and in many cases it can be because their average no longer fits in to team building plans.
Robert Ksiezak had indicated before the end of the season that he wished to move away from Glasgow this season so he doesn't fit into that category but the two riders who have to a certain extent been victims of their own success this season will be missed by Tigers fans.
It was not widely known but Lee Dicken had indicated that personal circumstances meant he would prefer not to ride for a Sunday track next season although had Glasgow needed him he would have returned.
Trent Leverington however falls into a different category. Alan Dick was keen to emphasise how gutted they were that Trent could not be fitted in to Glasgow's plans for 2009 and how much they hoped that they could have him back in Glasgow colours in the future.
Trent has continued to be a great ambassador for Glasgow and in addition to his normal activities he stepped into the breach as team captain last season when Shane Parker was injured and also spent much time backing the Speedway Study Support Centre. He should have no shortage of offers from other clubs but understandably the Glasgow fans will miss him next season.
