Walsh Approached

In this week's Speedway Star, Alan Dick confirms that the promotion have had preliminary talks with David Walsh with a view to him taking on the Track Curator position.

Alan is quoted as stating

'At present, (talking) is as far as we have gone although there does seem to be some considerable interest from both parties'

As a popular ex-Tiger, there would certainly be many advantages to having an experienced former rider as track curator given that riders are probably the best placed to understand what makes a good racing strip and it would be a move that would be welcomed by the majority to cushion the blow of loosing Danny Gibb.

Danny has also indicated that he will be available most of the time to offer advice and he will be on hand himself in the early stages to help out.
