2009 'Probably Shane's Last'

Those listening in to the coverage of the Australian Championships from Radio Fremantle would have heard the commentator state after heat 8 that 2009 will be Shane Parker's last season in UK speedway.

Our understanding is that the decision has not as yet been finally made but it seems extremely likely that this will be the case.

It is not really any great surprise although it will be the end of an era as far as Glasgow Speedway is concerned. Riders come and go in speedway but Shane will be a difficult act to follow. Hopefully his last season at Glasgow can be another successful one.
