Beaton Wins Scunthorpe Amateur

Gary Beaton got the year off to a good start when he won the inaugural amateur meeting run by Scunthorpe yesterday afternoon.

A full report is available on the Scunthorpe Official website. Gary appears to have had a very good afternoon and although he did not finish top on points in the qualifying heats, he pulled out the stops when it mattered, winning a close final from Gary Irving.

Also taking part in a large event at Scunthorpe was regular second half rider young Dale Lamb who had his first competitive outing on a 500cc bike. Dale did exceptionally well in the youth 500cc class, just missing out on a place on the podium.

Well done to both Gary and Dale on excellent performances.
