Although unlikely ever to race again thanks to that incident with Phil Morris at the end of last season, David remains a Glasgow asset meantime and has been one of the most popular riders in the sport.

Had it not been for injury, he was almost certain to have been part of the line up at Glasgow for 2008 and will be a big miss in a Tigers team he has enjoyed 3 out of the last 4 seasons as part of.

It had certainly been a very successful season for David, he had increased his average by over a point and provided some quite excellent wins at Ashfield, relishing his spot in the usually difficult number 2 race jacket for the majority of the season.

Sadly instead of planning for racing next season we are planning benefit nights and a benefit meeting for one of the most likeable guys in speedway.
