After over a season out with a serious arm injury, a very much taller James returned to riding last season, building his confidence with second half rides and then as part of the Glasgow Giants academy league side.

After an understandably slow start he had some good meetings for the Giants and finished off the season with a good display in the Heathersfield Open - winning the 'Mr Entertainer' award for his gutsy display in poor weather conditions with only eventual winner Gary Beaton and second place Adam McKinna lowering his colours.

This season coming will probably be a more accurate indicator of how much ground he has made up since his long spell out of action.
