Gary is obviously well known to Glasgow fans, coming from the infamous Beaton family.
He had his first PL rides for Glasgow in 2004 when coming in as number 8 in the meeting against Reading after guest Mark Thomson broke his wrist with Glasgow already operating r/r for Dicken and was one of the Scottish youngsters who benefited from the running of the Dale Devils a few years back.
As things stand at the moment, the 2009 season could be a far traveled one for Gary. He is currently without a team place in the new National League with his previous club, Redcar Cubs, having to shelve plans to ride due to financial constraints.
He perhaps did not progress as much as he would have liked last season and lost his Heathersfield title, having to settle for third place behind Adam McKinna and Richard Lawson.
His racing last year was curtailed to mostly second halves with only a handful of outings for Redcar Cubs and a Premier League guest booking for Reading at Edinburgh near the start of the season.
***Update***
At the beginning of February 2009, Gary was released from Glasgow at his own request and became a free agent.
