After a good start to the season and showing some good form, Ross's season was cut short due to a knee injury which required surgery.
Prior to his injury , Ross had been showing the type of form that saw him as part of the 2004 title winning side with Hull and that alone was enough to put him high on the list of riders wanted for 2009.
There is no doubt that he looks a steal on his 5.11 average and even at the end of last season he confirmed he was raring to go in 2009. An excellent gater, he has shown in the past - particularly in the Pairs in 2005 - that he can find the best lines round Ashfield and with the support behind him should be able to regain the form he showed in the early part of last season and raise his average accordingly.
